You're right. It's analogous to every person having food and thus no one is hungry (a socialist ideal i know, but everyone has to earn their meal, and the people producing it have to get something in return from you first). But of course there is a difference as you keep getting hungry and need more food to be produced from somewhere or someone, to keep up with your and my appetite. The same cannot be said with guns as not everyone has to keep shooting as they have to eat. Not all ammunition needs to be consumed. There is simply an appearance of equality or equal strength with everyone armed...which is a deterrent.

Some may disagree. But the important question for all this is...which is easier, disarming everyone 100% to achieve desired results.. or arming them 100%.

We dont really have a gun problem to be honest...

We have gun violence (inter-gang) but very very rarely does an innocent get killed. When they do there is national upcry and the police do their jobs.

There some economic solutions to our guncrime though. Improving the conditions of the poorest in society, increasing education, making the private sector scout more talent from poor areas, which will all serve to give these kids something to live for (ie not want to get arrested), while at the same time offering a viable alternative to drugs to earn money.

Of course all of these would have to be government led initiatives so i doubt you will entertain them...

No...what's crazy is outlawing private schools. What's crazy is taxing rich people even more, that's crazy. How could someone wanna live in a world like that.

I take it then that you weren't joking.

I cant stand the monarchy or anything that it stands for. Unfortunately i live in a country that wants to keep paying to send royal kids through the best schools, and fly helicopters to impress girls. Depressing i know.

Also getting the government to promote buying firearms, and introducing new legislation is not a 'free market solution'.

But of course it is. Your socialist POV won't allow to see it. And it's not promote, it's encourage open carry.

Instead of spewing anti-Gun rhetoric talking about "we don't wanna take away your right to hunt"...they need to do the opposite and encourage a basic right. And to top it off, decriminalize competition. If two people agree to face each other....and one gets killed, that person doesn't go to jail for it if a contract was signed. Pretty Free Market type stuff to me.
