  • Comments Thread For: Felix Sturm Has No Interest in Returning Arthur Abraham

The WBA's super champion at middleweight, Felix Sturm (36-2-1, 15KOs), is not interested in a possible fight with countryman Arthur Abraham (32-3, 26KOs), who is planning to possible return to the middleweight division in the near future. At the moment, Sturm is claiming that Sauerland Event, the promoters behind Abraham, are overpricing their boxer. For Sturm to consider such a fight, he says Arthur's price tag needs to be lowered. He consider Abrahama being worth such a high-end price when considering his recent shortcomings.

It would have been the toughest middleweight title fight either of has had.

Would be a great fight. A year or so ago I would have favoured Abraham, but now Im not so sure.

Sturm has a great jab, great speed, lotta heart, and decent power. Sturm can be hard to hit and boxes well.

Abraham has looked amateurish in recent outings and I feel Sturm may take advantage of that.

At this point I'd slightly favour Sturm, giving Art a puncher's chance.

Arthur should have 2 or 3 tuneup bouts to get confidence back before going for a big fight.

A guy like AA would give a lot of problems to Sturm ... if Sturm fights the way he did against Macklin he would be KOd by AA hard shots... A good fight IMO, if Sturm improves or just changes his fight plan to outbox AA then he could win, but if they go to the short distance I think it would be a KO for AA.

Abraham could cause a lot of problems for Sturm. But, I feel like Abraham doesn't fight well or with much confidence when he's obviously losing on the scorecard, which will be happening again no doubt, eventhough the fight will be in Germany.

Abraham and Strum both pick it up in the later rounds; that would be an excellent fight.

However, Abrahan isn't in a position to demand much. Hes a draw in Germany, sure, but he's coming off three strait losses. He wont get a title shot without getting down on his knees to beg first.

Abraham would destroy Sturm easily and Sturm knows it. Sturm has no chin. Sturm ducked Abraham before the S6 thats why Abraham moved up in the first place. then while the S6 was going he kept saying heīll him after at a catchweight or at 168lbs if Abraham cant get below anymore. and now he comes up with some new excuses. what a disgrace
and itīs not that Abraham lost to Castillejo, Griffin, Macklin type of opponents or some fat former lightweight great like Sturm. Abraham knocked Dirrell down twice in their fight and lost to Ward in a contest between a good and an excellent fighter though he had his moments in that fight as well while Sturm is only some average guy. Imagine what Dirrell, Ward, Froch would do to Sturm.
Sturm even is a wannabe Abraham look him up in recent fights how he came on with his shell and tried to fake Abraham up

I don't think it was just Sturm that constantly ducked AA making him go up 8 lbs. You'll recall that Pavlik wanted no piece of AA as well at 160 so he started on a year-long campaign of citing multiple and bogus Staph breakouts. And AA had already ventured up to 168 to fight Miranda so Arum and Pavlik knew it was just a matter of time before AA couldn't make weight at 160...hence the filibustering and stall tactics of postponed fights following Pavlik's embarrassing loss to Hop. Hell I think Pavlik canceled not 1 but 2 different fights with Mora to indirectly avoid AA.
