How close were Mike Tyson and Cus D'Amato?
Everytime they bring up Cus to Mike he looks in pain, it's like he starts trembling and tries to control himself from crying, it's pretty hard to watch sometimes how emotional he gets when ever the topic of Cus D'amato comes up.
Mike started choking up saying Cus believed in him and was the only one who saw anything in him, not even his own parents cared about him but this old white guy was telling him you are going to be special you have a gift.
And is it true that some black power muslim guys tried to tell him that white man don't care about you? It's kinda messed up if they tried to do that, when in reality that white guy care more about Mike than they did, they just wanted to feed him with paranoia to control him.
I think that's why Mike gets emotional he realizes who the real people are who cared about him, and he doesn't seem to be into that anti white mode he was outta prison.
