  • Comments Thread For: Marco Antonio Rubio-Carlos Baldomir in Play For 9/8

Promoter Oswaldo and Reginaldo Kuchle have revealed that they plan to match Marco Antonio Rubio (54-6-1, 47KOs) against Carlos Baldomir (49-14-6, 15KOs), 41-years-old, on September 8th in a bout with the IBF's International middleweight title at stake. Baldomir has been 1-1 so far in 2012, and the same streak has been matched this year by Rubio. The Mexican puncher has faced far better opponents in the last few years, while Baldomir has been trying to get himself together after being knocked out by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in September 2010.

Maybe he will retire after he evens out his losses with KO's. Or maybe he will keep going to wins and losses even out.

Baldomir???? That dude has been shot for years! Rubio is wasting his time after all the solid guys he has fought.

Seriously, what is the purpose of this fight? Shame on Rubio.

The last time Baldomir was a legit/decent fight was November 2006. He's been irrelevant for years.

terribleatch///baldomir's broke & a win 4 Rubio gets him nothing...a good commission wouldn't sanction this but we know how that is...

Ehh why not. Rubio is not world class and will never be world class. Baldomir will give him work. Can't be any worse then other opponents he fights to make time.
