they both took a beating. jones looks worse because gustavsson did almost all of his work with punches to the head while jones' work was divided between the legs, body and head of gustavsson.

if anything he did the least amount of work to the head and when he did go to upstairs he did so with elbows and kicks that landed hard but usually to the side of the head, forehead etc and not clean where they would leave a mark.

gustavsson went almost exclusively to the head and used mainly punches which landed more on the face leaving more marks.

jones looks worse but he clearly got the better of him imo, gustavsson barely made it past the finish line.

At best its a 3-2 for Jones.. he didn't clearly get the better of anything.. He was incredibly lucky to land that elbow when he did.. otherwise Gus takes the 4th and can even lose the 5th and still win. Don't get me wrong.. his technique on the elbow is great.. but anything which has you spinning around not facing the opponent and seeing were he is.. is "lucky" to me

Im not arguing over who got the decision, it was a competetive fight and im looking forward to the rematch. Im just pointing out that if you didnt watch the fight you would have thought Jones got the worst of it. From the state of his face to his team having to help him back to his dressing room. Even in the hospital photo Jones is the one in the hospital bed.
