I know from a first hand experience that our naval fleet does not hit the water defective....the only defective ships are the old DDG fleet from the 1970's which are growing old over time

The Navy and Coast guard are gearing up to put more boats in the water VERY soon.

Iran would be ******ed to provoke the US with troops in Iraq and Afghanistan right off their borders. Plus the strong naval presence the US keeps in the Gulf would be pushing it.

aside from japan (who are ridiculous in how quickly they retire their ships.) , americans are one of the fastest to retire their aging boats.

just a guess that that's because japan , with its anti-militaristic stance , doesn't want an extremely large active fleet BUT , with their nation heavily reliant on open SLOC , they want a large reserved , mothballed fleet just in case **** hits FUBAR status.

a lot of good , still serviceable boats are retired by the u.s. navy early.

so they can get new ones.

the spruance destroyers and perry class frigates we retired could have served on for many more years.

hence why other nations scooped them up at bargain base prices , taiwan for example.
