  • Does anyone else laugh when people call Quitali Klitschko an ATG?

I personally find it hilarious. These Klitschko nuthuggers honestly believe he is an ATG.When you look at who he fought and beat, youll see just how thin his resume is.The best fighter he ever fought was well past his prime old and clearly out of shape and yet he still knocked quitali out. These Klitschko nuthuggers have spent the last seven years discrediting Lewis for almost permanently caving vitalis face when they should thank him for being so merciful.vitali was at his peak and yet he couldnt beat the worst version of lewis lol.

I dont like vlad but atleast he fights the best heavyweights out there, even i they arent good.vitali is a cherry picker who takes easy fights like the polish guy he took ten rounds to stop and now a washed up shannon briggs

and he never rematched the guy who he quit against either.

I'm stealing these quotes from another poster on another forum.

In three reigns as champ, over an 11 year period, Vitali has successfully defended against (drum roll) Ed Mahone, Obed Sullivan, Danny Williams, Juan Carlos Gomez, Chris Arreola, Kevin Johnson and Albert Sosnowski. That's it!

I don't care how bad people think the heavyweight division is ... when you make a list of the top heavyweights from 1999 to 2010, NONE of the guys Vitali successfully defended against make the list.

If Vitali defeats Shannon Briggs, he will be the best challenger Vitali EVER successfully defended any of his titles against. (So that tells you a lot about what kind of champ Vitali has been and the quality of his challengers.)

For all his ups and downs (literally) Wlad Klitschko has faced FAR SUPERIOR competition than his brother.

If the Klitschkos were Kennedy's, Vitali would be "Ethel."

So saying most of the 70s heavyweights would lose to him is comical. What do you base that on ... his wins over Ed Mahone and Danny Williams?

    Give me a break.

At the beginning of the decade there was an old Lennox Lewis, an old Evander Holyfield and an old Mike Tyson. In the middle there was Wladimir, Chris Byrd, John Ruiz, Lamon Brewster. Towards the end there was Nicolay Valuev, Ruslan Chagaev and David Haye. There's 10. How did Vitali do against them?

    What is he, 0-2?

If you want to add Sergie Liakhovich, who fought a great war with Brewster in one of the epic fights of the decade, fine. If you want to add Rahman, who beat Lewis for the world title, fine. There's 12.

What is Vitali's overall score? Still 0-2?

If you want to add Golota, who looked to defeat Byrd and Ruiz, great. If you want to add Toney, who drew with Rahman and cheated to beat Ruiz, maybe. That's 14.

What's Vitali's score against the Top 14 heavyweights in what some call the "worst decade in heavyweight history? Still 0-2?

What about Sultan Ibragimov, who beat Shannon Briggs for his belt. Or Briggs?

Maybe you can add Maskaev, who beat Rahman for the title in a great fight. Maybe you can add Sam Peter, who defeated Maskaev but barely survived against Jameel McCline.

There's Jameel McCline, who beat Briggs but lost to Wlad, Byrd, Peter and Valuev in title fights.

Maybe you can add Corrie Sanders, who defeated Wlad but never beat another contender before that or after. Maybe you can add Roy Jones, who won one title fight and left.

Boy, you've got to get down to the end of the top 20 to find a win or two for Vitali over the worst heavyweight class.

If he beats his little brother he's great in my books. Too bad the fight won't happen.

        ******ed thread.

Vitali IS an All Time Great and Hall Of Famer.

        - Vitali has dominated every opponent he has ever faced.

        - 38 KOs in 40 wins, Greatest Heavyweight Champ KO% of all time.

        - great chin, never been down.

        - has never trailed on the scorecards.

        - only man ever to be world heavyweight champ in boxing AND kickboxing.

Vitali dominated Lennox Lewis and Chris Byrd, but a stupid doctor and a freak injury stopped him from winning those fights. Vitali could've easily been undefeated today.

Unfortunately, we never got to see Vitali's true prime. Chronic injuries forced Vitali into a 4 year retirement. If Vitali had stayed healthy he would've totally dominated everyone in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Vitali is 39 years old now, came back after the 4 year layoff and is still dominating the heavyweight division. His comeback record is 5-0, 4 KOs. He hasn't lost a single round in his comeback.

          Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis

          THE TRUTH

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis was badly hurt and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round. Lewis was getting outboxed, outworked, outlanded and was hurt several times in the fight.

          punches landed

          Vitali 156

          Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

Vitali intimidated the shit out of the Lewis after the fight and made him look like a bitch.

All of the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and boo'd Lewis after the fight.

          Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Lennox Lewis got DOMINATED AND RETIRED by Vitali Klitschko.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky, there has to be a rematch!"

Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"

Even Manny Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.

Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.

Recently he is cherrypicking , but fighting Sam Peter, Juan Carlos Gomez and Christobal Arreola was far from cherrypicking , they were top10s by the time he fought them.

This is all true Vitaly has been a dominant champ in his era and if it wasnt for those injuries and his retirement his legacy would probably be more impressive. The only problem is that during his reign the level of competition has been weak.
