also. heres a fun fact.........can ANYONE provide a link to where ortiz was supposedly prohibited from using reyes? mayweather allowed pac to wear any glove he wanted...........hell. you don't even know what brand ortiz will be using now do you...........

it's called speculating & trolling in an attempt to discredit mayweather before the fight even starts

    MAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    what a load of losers...................
Very wrong. The distribution of the padding, placement of stitching to materials used. Fighters with fragile hands don't use Cleto Reyes because it protects the hands less. For example Cleto Reyes uses hoarse hair while Everlast and Winning use high density foam. Reyes also has less of the padding around the knuckles than the other gloves.

Gatti switched from Reyes to Everlast after multiple hand injuries.

Often called punchers' gloves, the Reyes brand has been popular among trainers and fighters because the horsehair could be moved around and pushed back toward the wrist, leaving the knuckle and hand area with less cushion, and a harder impact.......New York Times

The gloves they were to fight in were an issue. Pacquiao wanted to wear Cleto Reyes gloves -- known as punchers' gloves -- .....ESPN

Your "there all 8oz argument" is equal parts laughable and lamentable.

Choosing your oppononts gloves could be mainly a phsycological thing, trust me by the time the fighters have got all that wrap and tape around they fists theres not much difference they make to punching power, if anything the way the fist is taped could make the difference in how the punch impacts. I've heard that some defensive minded fighters prefer Grant coz they are very padded on the topside of the hand, absorbing shots when covering up also giving a slightly larger area of protection than Reyes when covering up.

You're wrong about that and he's not a moron. Gloves weigh the same but it's how and where the weight is distributed that makes the difference. Reyes gloves are more of a form fitting glove and are considered punchers gloves with a quilted foam and hair padding that just barely cover the knuckle area and have a tighter clenched fist grip and form which is how you punch with power...less padding on the fist than Grant which are wider and better for blocking punches and are formed without the clenched hand position (more open). The loosely clenched hand is a faster thrown punch but without the real power behind it like the tight clenched fist punch. Mayweather has hand problems so Grant would be the better glove for him...more protection and he's a fast but lighter puncher and the Grant glove is also better for blocking.

This is a well known and often discussed fact about the gloves...you're insulting people and arguing a lost argument.

Grant gloves aren't KO gloves, that's why the hardest puncher in the sport uses them

Why post a picture of Wladimir when Vitali punches harder and has a higher KO ratio?

It's what Floyd wanted. I don't see a big deal with it.

If anyone should have a rematch clause in this fight it should be Ortiz.

And the Gloves are straight up bull**** by floyd cuz he knows that if Shane would've worn Reyes gloves he would've gotten KTFO and same with Ortiz.
You post a lot of Pacquiao fanboy crap 90% of the time, but this is something I might agree on or consider.

I sometimes wonder what would've happened had Shane hit him with Reyes gloves.

Well since the Klitschko brothers wear Grant ok assuming it's to better protect their hands? Since they're already heavy hitters, why use a glove with less hand protection if you already have KO no matter the glove brand/style? If someone like Tyson used Cleto Reyes' gloves then he'd have broken hands more often.
