  • Greg Richardson vs. Victor Rabanales for the wbc bantam title(1991)

    • Doug Jones against Zora Folley and Bob Foster. I have them around the house somewhere but they were on espn classic so I decided to give them another watch. Doug Jones was quite a fighter, he may have lost a few but he put together quite a few good wins too.

I will upload both fights in the trading block tomorrow.

Video of third bout between Zale and Graziano; weakest of the three bouts, but still a lot better than most Heavy clutch fests.
This trilogy probably better than the modern ones, including A & F!

Also watched first round of the astounding (but short) H & H, 198? brawl.

Smaller guys give you more action for the dollar!

                  Round 1 Hopkins 10/8
Hopkins came out extremely aggressive and landed some
solid shots before dropping Mercado with a left hook
right at the end of the round, it was not surprise really
as that left hook had already landed cleanly once or twice
                  before he dropped Mercado

Hopkins came out and nailed him with the left hook again
as he dropped Mercado and the ref deemed
him too hurt to carry on.

                  ---------------------------------------------------------

                  Ray Mercer vs Lionel Washington

                  Round 1 Mercer
Mercer landed the jab and few hard right hands and
nice hook, Washington largely on the defensive

                  Round 2 Mercer
Not much happened but Mercer landed to the body
                  and with a 1 2

                  Round 3 Mercer
Mercer's best round so far as he let his combos fly
and nailed Washington with a number of right hands

Mercer nailed Washington with a big right that dropped
Washington and the reffed waved the fight off. Fair stoppage
                  although Washington complained.
Michael Spinks vs Murray Sutherland I(1980)
Sutherland jumps on Spinks early and wins the first 3 rounds by applying constant pressure. Inexplicably, he begins to box and Spinks takes control of the fight, digging some tremendous left hooks to the body and right crosses to the head. Late in round 8, Spinks lands his vaunted Spinks Jinx, dropping Sutherland for a 9 count. Sutherland survives, and Spinks wins a very decisive 10 round decision.

Ray Robinson vs Jake Lamotta VI(2/14/51)
First 9 rounds saw Lamotta have tremendous success cutting off the ring and outjabbing the master boxer. However, beginning with the 10th round, Ray began walking Lamotta down by landing several powerful hooks, uppercuts and crosses. Finally, in the 13th, the state commission mercifully stops the fight and Robinson becomes Middleweight king for the first time.
