    all those top fighters were around and divisons were packed.

    it didnt matter about the 4 titles in weight classes cos the top guys were fighting each other. hopkins was doing his thing.. de lah hoya, mayweather wasnt a superstar but was climbing the ladder

    i dont see in todays boxing

    when fnr3 came out, thats when boxing was at it

      10 years ago, wasn't rjj ducking hopkins, wasn't tyson in jail, and wasn't hatton being protected in the UK, etc....???

        I don't know about 10 years ago but 5 years ago there were a lot more PPVs and a lot less quality on both HBO and Showtime. Mismatch galore.

        10 years from now you just know that people will be crying over the fact that 'the game isn't the same'.

        Boxing has some serious hate from its own fans.

          Fighters like Mosley, De La Hoya, Trinidad were established. Fighters like Marquez, Barerra, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Morales were on the up and up.

          I think promoters nowadays are too kind/protective of their fighters in the sense that they're in a situation where quitting is an option.

                    Roy didnt duck Hopkins. Hop wanted 50% of the purse. Thats crazy considering the circumstances then. Roy always said 60-40 the fight would be made, and that was being nice to bernard, who couldnt and still cant draw ****.
