BOXER Amir Khan is being protected by armed guards in Pakistan over fears he may be a target for kidnap gangs.
Amir, 25, flew out on Christmas Day to watch brother Haroon in a boxing tournament and to visit friends and family.
Pakistani officials have given him round-the-clock protection — police armed with AK-47s.
Khan, of Bolton, tweeted: "In car going out. Security look crazy. Got mobbed so bad outside hotel couldn't move but they were very nice."
A source said: "It is a very dangerous place."
