the star spangled banner is hard to sing. very hard. you need a great singer to pull it off.

Wrong! Wrong wrong wrong! This is the biggest issue I have with the singing of the national anthem. You yanks never sing your own bloody anthem. You always get some pretentious **** to warble a vague representation of the tune instead of just letting it be sung.

Your anthem has been spoiled by ****witted singers who see their attempt as their moment in the spotlight instead of giving the song the respect it deserves. Butchering the British anthem like that is a hanging offence in England and quite bloody right too.

Every time it plays at the World Cup all the English players sing it with passion. It's legit. The only other anthem I see that does that is the Mexican one.
