I'm not the hugest fan of soccer/football so I can't tell you in terms of overall game. However, I can tell you that as a man of stats, they don't mean much when talking about the best player of any sport.

What makes someone the best is generally something that isn't able to be added up or subtracted. It's all relative. Some guys are better at scoring and assists for example. Some are better roleplayers. Some are better at setting up an assist, than the assisting itself.

Both are great plaers and Messi is my favorite. But, both are great.
