    Yordan beat Choi,

    119 - 109, 118 - 112, 117 - 111

Yordan beat Choi in a lacklustre performance.

The 41 year old managed to survive the 12 rounds after being visibly hurt a couple of times and tiring late on. Yordan was content to box and controlled Choi early on in the rounds but once they got in close Choi would explode and flurry.

For the first 6 rounds, the score wasn't an accurate representation of the fight as Choi landed some good shots and kept the pressure on the champion. However, as the fight went on both men started to tire and Choi never really posed a threat.

It had it's exciting moments but age caught up with Choi and whilst Yordan won a wide decision, he was made to work for it.

John works behind the jab and targets the Thai's body early on, didn't really catch much of that round.

Piriyapinyo reluctant to engage John and eats double jabs, left hooks and rights to the body. The Thai has done nothing so far and John can't miss when he throws.

Piriyapinyo finally starts to throw but John catches him and the Thai covers up and moves backwards. For a pressure fighter, he hasn't taken a single step forward and John is backing him up around the ring hitting with him jabs, hooks and his famed, 'Dragon punch'. He's shown some nice movements and throws some beautiful counters.

Piriyapinyo looks completely out of his depth so far.

            Round 4

Piriyapinyo and John stand toe-to-toe and the quality in talent is evident as John slips the Thai's punches and comes back with banging body shots then moving upstairs. He's doubling, tripling his jab and he cannot miss with those big rights.

John's confidence is up and he clowns the Thai at the end with some nice defensive movements. This fight isn't lasting the distance.

Chris John using some slick movement and the Philly shell to set-up his big right hands and counters, looks like he's enjoying himself in there. Piriyapinyo landed his first punch.

                Round 6

John starts off behind the jab and moving backwards but comes inside and trades. He's allowing Piriyapinyo to have some success but the majority of the punches are landing on the gloves and arms of John whilst he comes back with the counter right-hands. He catches him with a big uppercut which pops the nose of the challenger and batters him for the remaining 40 seconds.

                  Round 7

The referee halts proceedings to deal with tape hanging of the challenger's glove, his corner takes as long as possible to repair it. John continues to stand with Piriyapinyo and both men land some good shots, the challenger finally having some success and even hurts John with a minute to go. John happy to hold until he recuperates and is straight back on the attack, banging to the body of the Thai. Round ends with Piriyapinyo on top.

                    Round 8

Fired up by the previous round, the Thai is walking John down and lands some good shots. John has neglected his boxing and would rather stand which is making this fight harder than what it should be. Both men continue to trade inside and the movement/defensive ability from John has diminished and is looking tired. Much more even fight now.

Commentators have it 6 - 2 to John.
