cotto has yet to fight a big strong jr middleweight. His best win at the weight is yury fcking foreman. He hasnt tasted the power of a huge guy like alvarez. Once he feels it I think he will go into survival mode like with pac

that's the one that needs to happen...can't say its going to be easy for Cotto at all but it won't be no walk in the park for Canelo either...
        WAR COTTO...!!!

Cotto is better than anybody Canelo has ever fought and it's not even close. Can you say the same for Canelo being better than Cotto's oppoents? I don't know if Cotto can stop him, but he beats him by a comfortable decision. No doubt.

Cotto vs Canelo would outsell JCC Jr. vs Martinez. Martinez's name isn't as big as Canelo's or Cotto's is. Two big names > one big name.

I think Canelo wins on size disparity not so much that there's anything special in the skills dept.

This dude still has a lot of equity to build in the skills area and fighting these "spoon-feds" aren't proven a thing...

Canela didn't look gigantic next to Matthew Hatton. And Cotto is approximately 10,356,916,455x better than Matthew Hatton.

Sorry to break it to you but Canelo isn't huge at all. He's of average height for his weight class and has a bulky build. That's about it. He isn't really that skilled and he has poor defense. He's like a bigger version of young Cotto that can't box as well but is more composed.

That said, I think Canelo pulls it off. He's younger, stronger and hungrier than Cotto. He's not faster but he's just as accurate. I think it's enough to stop Cotto in the later rounds unless Cotto connects at will all night. But then again, I thought he'd break Mosley and even though he thoroughly beat him it didn't take.

Iirc canelo is prone to body shots...he was getting tagged to the body by alfonso gomez. Canelo cant make that mistake against a body shot specialist like cotto

this fight will never happen for two reasons

If cotto loses he's done for good, 4 losses from dudes ranging from young to old and everything in between

If Canelo loses it will be very damaging to his overall stock. He will still be a draw but then it's always gonna be like "but he lost.....to a shot Cotto...."
