  • If MMA had been around earlier - Norris and Lee etc would have been involved.

Obviuolsy the world of MMA has really took off and it is a shame that for the likes of Bruce Lee who dreamt of this sort of competition that is occured after his time, also for the likes of Chuck Norris and also Bill wallace. They would have all been involed and i think it would have bee great to see these guy's invovled. Even for past boxers such as Tyson and Marciano who with their aggresion and power and low centre of gravity etc would have been great i think anyway. How would they have done, i think Norris and lee in particular would have been amazing.

Lee didn't believe in competition and Norris had his chance to compete in PKA style kickboxing, but never did. He only competed in point figthing competition. A form of tag you it without real contact.

They would be up to boxing standards in terms of revenue now and would still get schooled like the bums they are! Then they would disappear. It is coming soon, and they will be exposed as overrated spandex wearing bums.

If you compare the two sports. (well , actually you can't since they have little in common) but if you compare the participants. You'll instantly notice how international the mma competition is when compared to the competition they used to have back in the 30's or 40's (in boxing).

Better yet , today's mma competition is even more international than boxing's competition of the 70's , 80's & even 90's.

Think it's all bull**** ? Think again. Keep in mind, this is just an example.

Muhammad ali fought against opposition which originally came from :
        America
        UK
        Uruguay
        Jamaica
        belgium
        Netherlands
        Hungary
        canada
        germany
        argentina

        fedor fought opponents from:
        new zealand
        georgia
        japan
        america
        korea
        brazil
        trinidad
        lithuania
        england
        netherlands
        australia
        bulgaria

        Another comparison

(let's compare with a more , modern boxing fighter)

Jermain Taylor fought against fighters coming from :
        America
        Bahamas
        Puerto Rico
        Venezuela
        Colombia
        Dominican Republic
        Congo
        Haiti
        Uganda

The other good thing is that we don't have to deal with banned participants. (russians and cubans were banned from participating) then russians were finally allowed to participate with the pros but many years of absence were wasted.

Another huge difference with mma is how different all participants are. Because of the very nature of the sport. Upsets are more likely. You can have judokas fighting kickboxers or greco roman wrestlers vs jijujitsu artists...it's more varied.

Even though mma is not as old as pro boxing , we can already see these clear differences between the two. concidering how many countries are already participating in mma it could even be resonable to see a discipline like this in the olympics.

But since it is viewed as barbaric for most. And since the judging system would be even more problematic under the olympic system. I don't think they'll ever bother including this sport in the future.

Lee might have been involved in an MMA movie, but an actual fighter? No. Bruce Lee was never an actual fighter....just an actor and instructor...
