If I'm not mistaken, California, Kentucky and a few other states have more Public sector, State, City employees than Private sector ones. Yet they depend on Private sector for taxes to employ the Public employees.

Texas does not have this problem despite Liberals trying to dump on states that are generally more Republican and Small Govt.

California friend......California first. The states you mentioned no doubt have a lot of Welfare cases. This quote applies... "The government is good at one thing. It knows how to break your legs, and then hand you a crutch and say, "See if it weren't for the government, you wouldn't be able to walk". A lot of those states embrace individual liberty and self-reliance but don't seem to able to hack it....a lot of it being due to Federal Govt. So yes they will take the govt assistance if it's there.

California on the other hand is proud of it's ways.
