Lol this nigga said Arce was just as legit as Agbeko or Perez..

And mega LOL at people not counting the Moreno win. **** was 50-50 going in with the now non-existent Moreno clan claiming Mares was going to get clowned by the superior boxer.

Did he beat Caballero? Did Caballero get schooled by Litzau? I don't care about weight, I care about opposition, that's the whole point.

Gonzalez was already contemplating retirement at the time he fought Nishioka and he couldn't make '22 anymore. More important than whom is when. Asfar as fighting him; no, especially after how pedestrian he looked against a faded Marquez after fighting nobodies in his backyard for years.
you care about timing though, right? because caballero was the unified wba super world super bantamweight champ and IBF super bantamweight champ and ranked #1 in the division when mathebula fought him and lost a close and some say controversial decision..it's all about when than whom, right? and gonzalez went on to win a world title at featherweight and had some successful defenses after losing to nishioka...

        you're just sounding ignorant now...

The only reason Donaire edges it is because the Vic win was huge at the time. But that's the only reason.

Kind of hard to go against Donaire though unless you
            1. Flat out hate him
            2. Mares nut hugger

Like people said before, Mares hasn't even fought a 122 fighter yet.
Also the way Donaire KO'd Vic and Montiel when they were seen as huge threats puts him up and above Mares.
Even if you want to challenge his 122 record, they were against 2 former champs (1 if you count Nishioka's Emeritus WBC belt) with one being the number one in the division and the other the IBF champ.

lets look at the comparison (only counting wins)....

vic darchinyan - undefeated, IBF & IBO flyweight world champion, 6 successful defenses of the titles all by stoppage, top ten p4p, donaire only had 17 pro fights and was rightfully considered a big underdog

fernando montiel - the unified WBO & WBC bantamweight world champion, ranked #1 at bantamweight, ranked top ten p4p

toshiaki nishioka - ranked #1 at super bantamweight, the real WBC super bantamweight champ (was only stripped of the title), long veteran career

omar narvaez - a two weight world champion, ranked #1 at 115lbs, was undefeated before facing donaire *fought at bantamweight for donaire's wbc & wbo bantamweight world titles*

jeffrey mathebula - IBF world champion, no one has looked good against him and that includes caballero who beat mathebula by a close and some say controversial decision

summary: 4 current world champions and 1 former world champion (nishioka was only stripped of his world title), two undefeated, two ranked top ten p4p....

                now for mares....

anselmo moreno - ranked #1 at bantamweight, ranked top ten p4p, wba super world bantamweight world champion...*fought at 122lbs for mares' WBC super bantamweight title*

joseph agbeko - ranked #3 best bantamweight in the world, IBF bantamweight world champion

vic darchinyan - IBO bantamweight champ, ranked top ten at bantamweight (#9 i think), lost his debut at bantamweight against agbeko, was the unified WBA super world super flyweight champ & WBC super flyweight champ

eric morel - ranked top ten at bantamweight (#5), 13/1 underdog against mares *fought at a catchweight of 120lbs for the vacant WBC super bantamweight title*

summary: 2 world champions and 2 former world champions (darchinyan vacated his super flyweight world titles to compete at bantamweight..and IBO isn't really considered a legit world title), 1 ranked top ten p4p...

conclusion: donaire's resume > mares' resume

Donaire by a long shot has a better resume at any and every division. Period!
