  • "Dystonia" cheerleader does not display symptoms of dystonia

So says Neurologist Steven Novella. And it seems that her admitting neurologist agreed, saying on her VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) report that there was "a strong psychogenic component to the symptomology".

Note that psychogenic does not mean crazy, nor does it mean she is faking her symptoms. Her symptoms appear to be real and she appears to be unable to control her movements. It's just that her symptoms are psychological and not neurological in origin.

The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation had this to say:

Because of the concern of individuals with dystonia as to whether or not to get a flu shot because of this reported case, we have sought the opinion of dystonia experts on this case. Based on the footage that has been shared with the public, it is their unanimous consensus that this case does not appear to be dystonia.

Who is Desiree's doctor now? None other than Dr Rashid Buttar who is facing charges of unprofessional conduct for charhing patients high fees for unnecessary and unhelpful tests and treatments.

Also worth mentioning is that despite the fact that neurologists who commented on this case have taken great pains to stress that "psychogenic" does not mean "all in the head" their comments have been mischaracterised by the liars who are not afraid to use one woman's tragic circumstances in order to further their unscientific nonsense.

No reliable connection has been made between the seasonal flu vaccine (not the H1N1 vaccine, she got the seasonal flu vaccine) and her symptoms. If indeed her symptoms are dystonia and if indeed she did get it from the flu vaccine (which most experts including epidemiologists and neurologists think is extremely unlikely) then she is the first person in the history of vaccination to have developed such a disorder making the chances of such a side effect in the order of literally millions and millions to one, far longer odds than the risk of serious illness and complications from contracting seasonal influenza.

In fairness I don't recall him commenting on the dystonia cheerleader. I would hope not in any case considering his insistence on critical thinking and scepticism.

... But knee-jerk reaction and hysteria are much more fun than thoughtful consideration and careful examination... Her situation sucks regardless but it's much more beneficial for her to find the true root cause than jump to immediate conclusions. If it does turn out to be the shot it's still amazingly unlikely to present in another person with the H1N1 shot this year let alone the next decade...

Apparently chelation therapy is just swell and is sorting out her problems. Such a shame it's quackery. Oh well, at least it will relieve her of the burden of her savings account.

According to Neurologists this is not like any neurological dystonia they have ever seen.
