Well I disagree. I think Americans early on DID work harder because that was the system that was set up. When this country was young, there was a battle for land, money, business, resources etc...

That is what an Industrial Revolution is about, nearly every country has had one. The most impressive by far is in Stalins Russia though (despite his obvious flaws).

It was survival of the fittest and there wasn't a king of queen to answer to. That's why if you look at the way the Constitution was laid out, it was based on individual rights and making your own way so to speak.

Again all this stuff isnt unique to America...

It's the same reason we are less taxed than most countries around the world. We have a right to bear arms, most Americans see socialism or big govt as a bad thing.

I wouldnt argue with that, but i dont see any of those as good things.

After WWII, the economy really took off, competition ignited and people were carving their way to become wealthy and powerful in this country. It's why you hear "You can do anything you put your mind to" or "The American Dream".

After World War Two your economy took off because you were the only large economy not affected by the war. Japan was nuked twice, Britain was shelled heavily and completely skint from war effort, France was devastated, Germany shelled/skint/completely wrecked, Russia had been wrecked by 'scorched earth' tactics on both sides. You used your position of power to issue loans to countries trying to rebuild themselves and after that never relinquished your position at the top. Not a criticism just a fact.

It's more than just luck, resources, or happenstance. In 200+ years, America has exploded onto the world scene in almost every category. It might flame out just as quick too.

200 years is not that quick. As Squealpiggy previously posted in between you gaining your independence Britain rose and fell as a global superpower, as did Napoleons France and Bismarks Germany.

One of the things you have to bear in mind is that Americans take nationalism to dizzying heights and will stop at nothing to have something to brag about. And by "stop at nothing" I mean "invent their own sports that no-one else plays so that they can be perpetual world champions".

American football, baseball, friggin NASCAR. Then you get the really bull**** stats. "Yo DeBrawn Brickoshay can run da freakin 40 yard dash in freakin 5 SECONDS! No rugby player can do dat USA USA!"

Quite right. No rugby player would ever attempt it. It isn't a useful metric for any non-North American sport and it certainly wouldn't help you in a game when you have to run non-stop for two 40 minute halves. Not only do players of American football get a two minute break literally every 20 seconds, they also have about 900 players on a team who they are allowed to switch whenever they want.
