yung US Team defending champs dito sa Jones Cup, tinalo na nila Quatar at Korea after matalo satin...kaya big win yun para satin

yung sa lebanon, okey lang yun in last four games natin nakaharap ang lebanon, first time pa lang tayo nila natalo tsamba pa (law of averages better now kesa sa japan)

naiitindihan ko yung tinitimpla ng coach yung team para hindi ma-scout, okey lang sakin na hindi nila tambakan yung japan kaso not to loose like that...

I am still giving them the rest of the tournament, madali naman akong kausap... to end in a positive note sa jones cup in their six remaining games, they just have to win 3 games (iran, jordan & korea)
tama ka dyan pareng joms, pero that is exactly my point. nung unang laro ng US medyo kalat sila pero kalat din tayo nun, kaya lang tayo ang nakatsamba sa huli. kung maganda nilaro natin dapat tambak dun yung USA.

yung sa lebanon, yung tsamba ang nagdecide ng outcome, pero that was the result of our inability to sustain our game up to the end. malakas sa una pero kapos sa huli. baliktad naman yung ibang teams where they finish strong all the time, which is what we need dahil almost all international games are decided in the end game by small margins.

yung sa Japan, wtf, katangahan lang, plain and simple, and that includes the coaching staff for poor decision making.

preng counter, still give our team a chance, tingin ko may pagasa pa...
im actually not talking about them winning the tournament at all dahil hindi naman yan ang ultimate goal natin. I am talking about the way we are playing at this last stage of the preparations for FIBA, where I can say we are not even close to being prepared for the powerhouses there. parang alam ko na mangyayari sa Japan...remember that only two teams will get to the Olympics and China is sure na. So that means the second best in Asia will be the other one, and if we are that team, dapat nilalampaso na natin ang mga kasali dito sa Jones Cup, tulad ng ginawa ng Centennial Team nina Duremdes at Aquino nuon.

tol i am also referring to the FIBA-Asia, alam kong hindi natin goal winning dito sa jones cup, pero dito dapat nga tulad ng sabi mo napapakita na natin kung ano kaya gawin ng team...

after the US game maynabasa na ko na goal ng team is to scout opponents and to hide our aces kaya sakin okey na sa akin yung mga ***it na laban pero itong japan ang malaking kalokohan na nagpatalo sila, we should have won this one, pano tayo rerespeto kung natatalo tayo ng weakest team...

para makabawi importante para sakin na matalo natin ang iran & jordan dito sa jones na ka bracket natin sa FIBA at korea na baka makaharap natin sa crossover...

that was a long time ago tol ...

sa ngayon misyon natin is to regain lost respect ...

i dont see that yet here sa jones, sana sa FIBA-Asia may mangyari...

            2. complacency. right after the thunder slam of kelly williams they thought the game was done. it was actually the start of their downfall. the same thing happend during the lebanon game. they built a lead as huge as 12 only to blow it in the end game.

            3. panic. i think this killed them. vs. lebanon, hontiveros hurried a shot with about 5 seconds left and it was enough para matawid ng lebanon para sa buzzer beater. and AGAIN kanina, nagmadali na naman sya. tabla ang score, the just needed a good shot or could have run the time out dahil lamang sila kahit i-overtime. nagmadali sya and pabato yung hagis nya ng bola na sobrang predictable kaya naagaw for a game-winning fastbreak. at dahil na rin sa panic, kaya di sila nakaka-execute down the stretch.

            4. lack of a post-up game. the japanese are about our size pero mas lamang tayo sa heft. i didnt understand why di tayo nag-postup when we had the lead, especially against this team which we cannot do against lebanon and the US. kapag pumoste tayo, mas babagal ang game and lesser chance for japan to go to their transition game. eh ang nang yari eh nakipag-palitan tayo ng shooting eh. im very disappointed with erik menk, i think sya yung ine-expect ko na mamayagpag dito. i think for now, sana sya yung maalis. walang kagana-gana.

we have actually the best team possible right now given the circumstances ng availability ng mga pro players. it's really the coaching team that has to unleash the full potential of this team. hopefully in time for the fiba qualifying.
Perfect Analysis pareng ACE. Pero dadagdagan ko pa:

firepower: while i agree with you, this is exactly what pisses me off. we had a lots of topguns but nobody is firing well except for Ritualo, Alapag and in spurts, Caguioa. I know we still have Seigle as an ace up our sleeves, but we need more guys that scores, and are not shy to score. And guys like Yap should be given more time to play and develop that shooting prowess.I dont consider Hontiveros coz hes soooo inconsistent and an absolute liability in the end game. What good is firepower if everyone is gunshy (except for f**ing Hontiveros)?

complacency: you're very kind with words pareng Ace. pero ako, I would say it's a case of "lack of killer instinct" tulad ng kay Pacman. If you smell blood, then go for the kill. What happens is we let the other team stalk us and kill us later. On the part of the players, they really really lack hustle & intensity that I see on the other teams (sayang si Hatfield...). On the part of the coaching staff, why not go for the juggernaut first before breaking the rhythm for the sake of experimenting ( hanngang kailan tayo mag eexperiment?). What Chot does is ibitin lang ang players and not develop any confidence at all. Mybe he should do the reshuffling per half or even per game, but not during the game. This is dress rehearsal time Chot! And we should be playing the way we would be playing in FIBA-now! If the others see we are beatable! then the intimidation factor will no longer be there. Intimidate now, surprise later! what's wrong with our coaches?

panic:mabait ka talaga Ace. I would say lack of character and team work. If the individual players are able to keep their poise throughout the game, and esp at end game, maybe that would negate the lack of team work. But if there are weak links (or weaklings) then teamwork should come to play. But if you lack both...buti pa ipadala na lang ang team ng Harbour Centre sa FIBA baka manalo pa! he he he

lack of post up game: Yup! and lack of hoop attack and drive in and slashing! this is where I miss Cariaso and Miller. Remember how RP beat Japan in the last Asia Games courtesy of Carisao? And if we are afraid to post up Japan, who else can we post up? CHinese Taipei have big men who slash the middle and jump for offensive boards. Thats why they beat Japan.tsk tsk tsk
Menk is past tense. Pauwiin na rin si Hontiveros, Williams, Canaleta, at Chot Reyes! he he he

The only saving grace and glimpse of hope is to beat Iran & Jordan, very convincingly at di tsamba, here in Jones Cup. If we instill fear in them and confidence in us this early, without Seigle, then we may have hope.

Agree. Isama mo na si Pena na mukha pa lang masisindak na sila. Dennis Espino could provide that too plus experience and gulang sa depensa.

si dennis espino eh parang si marlou na rin eh, yung tipong sumpungin na lang yung pakitang gilas nila(come to think of it, ganyan naman karaniwan sa PBA, kapag mga millionaires na eh tinatamad ng maglaro ata at nde na all out ang paglalaro nila. injuries ang iniisip na kung baga)
