By Jake Donovan - Jhonny Gonzalez makes the fourth defense of his featherweight title as he faces Elio Rojas later this evening at the Grand Oasis Resort in Cancun, Mexico.
Gonzalez (51-7, 45KO) won the title in dramatic fashion more than a year ago with a come-from-behind knockout of Hozumi Hasegawa on the road in Japan. The title winning effort is a significant part of his current 11-fight win streak, all coming by way of knockout.
Rojas (23-1, 14KO) has won four straight since suffering the lone loss of his career nearly five years ago. Injuries have plagued the Dominican’s promising career, also interrupting his title reign.
