  • TUF 11 Finale: IRRELEVANT

Is anybody even remotely interested in this card? I mean I'm definitely going to watch that & Green/Ward tonight but this seems like the most pointless card in UFC history. I mean it's point is to crown to the winner of the season, but the big fight on there is Hamil vs Jardine, SERIOUSLY? That's a fight night mid card fight. Look at every other TUF finales...

1st season- Shamrock vs Rich Franklin
-Shamrock was a legend who wasn't proven to be past it yet against a hungry up and comer Rich Franklin who became a star after this.

2nd Season- Diego Sanchez vs Nick Diaz
-Two young stars trying to make a name, Diego just won TUF 1 and was undefeated. Nick Diaz was a rising young star to who had been in a some classics.

3rd Season- Kenny Florian vs Sam Stout
-I know right now it doesn't seem like the brightest main event looking back BUT IT WAS THE RETURN OF THE LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION! Not to mention the winner fought Sean Sherk for the lightweight title.

4th Season- Matt Serra vs Chris Lytle
-Winner got a shot at GSP, and Serra even beat him.

5th Season- BJ Penn vs Jens Pulver
-Enough said. Probably the best one because the coaches fought on it!

6th Season- Roger Huerta vs Clay Guida
-Huerta was an exciting rising star looking get into the title picture

7th season- Evan Tanner vs Kendall Grove
-Probbably the 2nd weakest one but Tanner was a legend and the rest of the card was pretty solid.

8th season- Phillipe Nover vs. Efrain Escudero
-Both were undefeated and Dana even said Nover reminded him of GSP. It was decent at least. Both had upside.

9th season- Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida
-Do I gotta say anything else?

10th season- Jon Jones vs Matt Hamil
-If you know who Jon Jones is, you know damn well this was a solid main event because he will be champion in a few years, ALMOST GUARANTEED if you've seen him fight And he's only 23. The Light heavyweight GSP at least in the comparison of how GSP rose to stardom.

You see atleast the rest of them had relevancy. Except Kendall vs Tanner which was the same kind of fight(loser leaves) fight, but at least tanner was a legend and Kendall is an exciting fighter to watch win or lose. Jardine's just weird with a weak chin even though he does have impressive victories but is so inconsistent. I have so much respect for Hamil but I'm just saying, he's no stud. Both are 3-4 fights away from a title fight at the least and that's if they win impressively, beat another top 20 guy, and then beat a top 10, and then a top 5. I just wish they at least had a rising star on this card that you had hope for in the future or something. It could end up being a good fight but I think if Hamil is smart, he'll bum rush him and take Jardine out within the first 2 minutes.

It's a free night of fights so meh, who am I to complain? I enjoy MMA for the fights. Not the fighters. Just wish I had something to be exciting about for this card.

    I am kinda interested..

Lol, I don't like the GSP comparison. Jon Jones is a completely different beast. He is the epitome of what MMA is supposed to be. He is like the Sugar Ray Robinson of MMA in terms of the skill. Jon Jones literally does everything, it's like you take Anderson Silva and fuse him with GSP and you get Jon Jones. He will destroy you standing and don't even think about wrestling with him because it's not worth it. If it wasn't for Hamill faking like a Uruguay soccer player, he would still be undefeated.

I remember when I first hyped up Jon Jones on this site, people were like "not yet, he is still too green. we have to wait and see." Now, people are seeing what I am seeing but at a later date(Not specifically saying you TS).

Besides the main event, I want to watch my boy Yushin Okami and his new found stand up ability. He freakin raped that one dude at the last fight night.

And last but not least, Takanori muthafuckin Gomi!!! Too bad he is fighting Stevenson. Either Stevenson gets killed or Gomi gets Melvin'd. I really really really hope for the former.

I didn't mean fighting style wise of course. I mean they are both beasts whereever the fight goes, but I meant more of GSP when he first started in the UFC. He was only like 23 and making veterans look stupid. And like GSP he'll probably hit a learning curve or too.

Haha I know you didn't mean me, I was a young buck on this forum when that fight happened and I hardly ever posted. But I always knew he was something special because me and my friends ordered UFC 94 when he gave Stephon Bonnar a full out ass whoopin! I'll never forgot those sick elbows & throws. I was shocked he was on the undercard of UFC 100 even though he was facing Jake O'Brien for god sakes, but that could have been on the main card of another card instead. But I almost shat myself when he did that thing where he touched his knee and then did a spinning back elbow on jake, that **** was crazy. I admit I wasn't expecting him to dominate Hamil but nobody wasn't, I doubt you were. I was expecting Jones to win a decision but out striking Hamil and using that wrestling to keep it standing. I still to this day don't think hamil was faking. It's obvious too because he's deaf. He hurt his shoulder and that's why he even said he couldn't go on. The ref thought he couldn't continue because of the illegal elbows, but Matt Hamil's deaf, the ref's a ****in idiot for trying to have an intelligent conversation with him. hamil was favoring his shoulder the whole time. He couldn't continue because of his shoulder, that's a TKO win by injury for Jon Jones.

Actually now that I think about it, this card's gonna be ****in amazing fight quality wise minus the main event(since I think Kris is just going to try and wrestle Court. But hamil should dispose of Jardine for a cool KO but Jardine will go down swinging as always. Spencer Fisher vs Siver gonna be a great kickboxing technical slugfest, and Chris Leban vs Aaron Simpson is going to ****in crazy! Not to mention Yager vs Rich. Both had the most exciting fights in the house IMO. Love or Hate Yager, he's exciting to watch and Rich had a sick fight until he got hurt. That's going to be sick! Hopefully they have good long careers! Its just that minus the Rich-Yager fight, their's really like no upside or relevancy for any other fighter except Simpson if he wins haha

oh i am glad someone realised, it hought i was the only one who didn't give a **** about this lacklustre card, even the tuf finale isn't good on paper, with Savage and his awful cardio, his always go for takedowns and boring style he is the weak link, Court will make it a barn burner he is awesome to watch.

Chris Lebens fight will be good but i don't like Aaron Simpsons style but i want Leben to KO this mother****er back to the NCAA.

Yager always has a good fight so i expect a good one of him vs Rich although it should have been him vs Kyacey

Spenser Fisher vs Dennis Siver is going to be fight of the night, i can't wait for this.

I am glad Brad is facing Seth again after the CONTROVERSIAL ending to their fight on the show.

Jamie Mcksweeney always performs and puts on a good fight.

Noke vs Josh will also be good.

irrelevant but enjoyable seeing jamie yager get stopped again. they guy talked so much **** on TUF dana will have to keep him around even if he loses every fight just because people will pay to see him catch another beatdown. lol, when rich pounded him out, i could hear yager's voice in my head saying " when i put these tips on you, you gonna breathe in and breathe out, homey "
