  • Comments Thread For: Haroon Khan Admits He Could Have Fought Bettter

Haroon Khan marked his professional debut with a 40-37 points win over Lincoln's Brett Fidoe at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield tonight. The 21-year-old younger brother of Amir looked ragged at times but had too much power for his limited opponent, who slipped to his third defeat in four professional bouts.

The younger Khan had taken his time to turn over to the paid ranks after winning a bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi representing Pakistan. He served early notice of his attacking intent by backing Fidoe into a neutral corner on the back of a strong left hand, but the game Fidoe did a good job of preventing the favourite gaining too much momentum.

Early days, but this kid doesn't have the natural gifts of his brother (yeah Amir has a bad chin but he's Olympic silver & 2 time world champ).

I was not impressed by his performance. It'll be interesting to see how far he's going to get.

First fight, too early to tell.

Could have an ok career but since Khan bro will always get compared to him so he will always be looked down on.

        Just like Matthew Hatton..

First fight in 18 months but it's obvious he's not going to go as far as Amir.

I am a believer in you're either a born fighter or you're not and this guy is not, Without sounding racist some race's just can't fight it's not in their DNA Angel Garcia was right but wrong in his wording, You can be taught to box and can have some exceptional skills as a boxer like anyone can but you're going to get found out eventually.

Amir Khan is a fantastic boxer but he can't fight to save his life you put him in with people like Lamont Peterson, Timothy Bradley, Danny Garcia solid boxers with the ability to fight hes always going to struggle and come up short because of his inability to fight it out.

Better scrap boxing and try that modeling idea his blind mother suggested.

I hear there is a new clothing brand called Fugly looking for a guy to model for their K-Mart ads.

Not necessarily. Look Canelo and his elder brother as ONE example or Wlad now compared to Vitali (both big but Wlad is bigger atm).

He does not have Amir's gifts though. Amir seems to have much more speed even though Khan started at 135 and Haroon is at 115. I wanted to see him take some clean shots to determine how good his chin is but it can't be worse than Amir's.
