  • Comments Thread For: Nonito Donaire Steps Up The Tempo in Training Camp

2012 “Fighter of the Year” Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire is pushing himself to the limit in his preparation for his title fight against WBA featherweight champion Simpiwe Vetyeka of South Africa at the Cotai Arena of the plush Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Macao on May 31.

The four division world champion who is coming off a 9th round TKO of hard-hitting Vic Darchinyan in his first fight as a featherweight sparred eight rounds at high noon in the stifling heat of the Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Gym in Saint Rita’s Village along Sucat, Paranaque on Thursday and repeated the regimen on Saturday.

Maybe you should also ask Rigo if he still has nightmares about the 12 guys he has lost to. So what.

Donaire needs a performance. His career is going south in a hurry. He needs to turn things around soon if it's going to happen.

How does one loss make your career go down the tubes? I guess I'm missing something here. Donaire does have the tools to bounce back in a big way.

I used to work with alot of filipinos and well they all hated donaire. They loved pac , granted if you mentioned another boxer they usually had no clue who they were. They do find it funny many Americans pronounce his name wrong, but other than that they dont watch his fights and they dont care about him.
