Threads like that are funny because the haters don't even realize how much esteem and respect they give to floyd
Damn you're right. No fighter is held to this kind of standard. Been that way for years.

Floyd fighting Marquez (a legend) as a tuneup after a long layoff is an easy night and a cherrypick.

Manny fighting Marquez for the 4th time gets all the respect in the world.

Just shows how people deep down knows that Floyd is in another category.

He will be rememebered as a guy that in the day where athletes everywhere were getting busted for drugs avoided enhanced testing.
He will be remembered as the guy who couldnt get a decisive victory then got brutally KO'd against his biggest rival.
He will be rememebered as a fighter who fought the majority of his career defining wins at catchweights and avoided fighters in their respective weightclasses

Those are the things he will be rememebered for....things that arent what legends do.
And Floyd will always be remembered as the guy that straight up retired for 2 years, once his division was getting dangerous. Then on top of that, he cherry picks. Then rumored to have failed 3 drug tests, while Manny hasn't been rumored to fail a single one.

You list all of Manny's faults as if he should've went undefeated his whole career, and not been touched once in the ring.

Ok, catchweights, or make your opponents move up in weight, then not even make weight.

At the end of the day, fighters, journalists, fans (not fan boys), main stream fans will always respect, and appreciate Manny more than Floyd. Simple and plain.

You're a KNOWN flowmo. Your word should be taken with less than a grain of salt.

He has to do all that, because of his past cherry picking, ducking, avoiding ways. That's the only way he can make it up to fans. Period. Point. Blank.

No one's even asking him to fight Sergio at middleweight.

Edit: I said make it up to FANS, not Flowmos, that would be OK with him fighting Richard Pryor in his prime, and hyping it up as the greatest boxer vs. the greatest comedian.

Floyd makes JMM move up 2 weight classes, and has the nerve to miss weight. Manny fights super, duper, juicer, JMM.

            HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Floyd's spent a career only taking the fights he knows he's supposed to win. I don't see how anyone can expect different from him in his final fights.
Roger is roger hes got his opinion.

Its not Floyds fault that the only fights to make are ones where hes supposed to win. When your in your own league its hard to create drama. Hes just that good.

Only by idiots like you. If all that were true...the Many would have never been FOTD FOTY so many times. Would never be recognized as an 8 time world champ in 8 different world classes. People act like a gun is held to their heads to make these fights a whatever weight class. If any fighter or handlers feel its risky or dangerous...they dont have to take the fight. They do with confidence. Only dumbasses have problems understanding the concept. 141-147 is the WW limit. Youre just a few out of a handful of morons that will remember a great fighter like that.

super, juicer. Lol cut the crap please. You really think that Marquez would have done differently against Floyd than he did the first time. hell he was even slower it would have been worse.

Juicer ? so you're defending Pac that he has never failed a drug test and at the same time throwing accusation at JMM that he was dope. So Pac has a free pass about suspicion and can avoid all the tests he wants but if a fighter is muscled in a fight against him than poor Pac he's fighting a "super juiced monster". Come on stop calling people fan boys when you're clearly one.

You're missing my point. Floyd fought the way out of shape, way blown up, JMM. Pacquiao fought, undeniably the best version of JMM at WW.

At the end of the day, real objective boxing fans will remember one thing :

Floyd and Pac were the two greatest fighter during the 2000-2020's. Both were fighting great opposition until they became p4p #1 and started with the good matchmaking and catchweight for Manny. Both did the same thing "imo", but to me atleast Floyd didnt ask for catchweights and was fighting guys coming of wins.

Both were to blame for the Big fight not happening. Both have their blame about the way they conduct their career after they became #1. Who was better ? Floyd, and even the haters know it by making a million thread about how he has to fight middleweight in their prime to have an ounce of respect
