Junior middleweight Jonathan Gonzalez (16-0-1, 13KOs) is looking for a change. He wants new representation on the promotional side, according to his father and manager, Antonio "Tony" Gonzalez. The 23-year-old Puerto Rican fighter is promoted by Gary Shaw, Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing and Javier Bustillo of Puerto Rico-based Universal Promotions.

Gonzalez's career was going very smooth - until last August when he badly missed weight for his HBO televised debut. Gonzalez, facing former champion Sergiy Dzinziruk, came in at 163-pounds for a match contracted at a 154 max. Gonzalez and Dzinziruk fought to a draw, although most believe the young prospect should have got the nod from the judges. [Click Here To Read More]

        Gonzalez is BASURA

Gary is hoping someone buys his contract out, cause at least he can make something back on his wasted investment. Dude isn't an exciting fighter anyways just another bum.

No promoter in the world is going to help him with his sloppy habits and lazyness

The kid had the chance of a lifetime when he got on HBO against Dzinziruk. And what did he do? He came in fat and way over the weight limit.

I think he should have gotten the decision in that fight but that's besides the point. When you get these opportunities you have to put your best foot forward. Now he has gotten a bad reputation and they don't want to put him on TV again.

Let that be a lesson to all young boxers.

maybe the problem in all of this is the father and not the promoter. How are you the manager, trainer and father and yet allow your fighter/son to come in overweight on what was his 1st and biggest stage to shine? Now he seems desperate and trying to blame this on Shaw.

Just curious, isn't it the manager's job to find the fights for his fighter?
