It looked to me like Cotto didn't even train right or something. I've never seen him swing so wide and neglect the jab so much before.
      neglect the jab? lol

dude had a substantial reach disadvantage against a guy who threw a ****load of jabs, his best bet was to fight the way he did, in an ambush style leading with power shots. only problem was Cotto was gassed after 6-7 rounds

Cotto's mouth was hanging open after 6 rds

Trout forced Cotto to revert back to his old swarming/pressure style, and he simply doesn't have the endurance/stamina to make it work anymore. He also doesn't have that kind of punching power to effectively swarm his opponent.

You can still throw your jab against a taller southpaw even if you don't land it, use it as a range finder and as a way to set up your left hook, like Ward did against Dawson, Hopkins against Tarver, etc.

Cotto's jab disappeared in the 2nd half.

What did you score it Shawn?

Looked as though you gave Cotto a lot of rounds, but I figured you smarter than that and you were just trolling. What did you end with?

Cotto sets up everything of the jab, that's how he fights. If he didn't use the jab, he was a fool. So you think it's better to jump in with a wide looping haymaker trying to get on the inside than it is to pump or double pump the jab while slipping under Trout's punches? Cotto was on the outside way too much and when on the inside, he was ineffective.

When Cotto got on the inside he didn't throw enough punches. He would just stand there waiting....when he let his hands go, he landed punches. Like I said, it looked like Cotto didn't properly train for this fight.
