By Jake Donovan - The Fox Deportes-televise co-feature at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma supplied plenty of thrilling moments for all of the right and wrong reasons.

When all was said and done, Casey Ramos remained unbeaten with a unanimous decision over John Jackson in their eight-round lightweight bout.

Getting to that point was another matter altogether. [Click Here To Read More]

The upsets keep piling cause of terrible matchmaking. Marroquin had shown signs of trouble vs lefties, in his last fight he barely escaped with a win vs journeyman Sanchez and now he was matched against another lefty. As feather fisted as Leal is they had to count on him having a good solid chin and sort of good boxing skills. Marroquin's face was a mess and couldn't bock a straight left to save his life. Marroquin looks like a good young fighter but has to go back to the drawing board and have a lot of sparring vs lefties to learn how to deal with them. It was another Arum mistake, maybe he's getting too old and is loosing his touch...

The Marroquin/Leal was a very good fight! It was a close fight & some rounds were hard to score..Leal took Marroquin's body shots(which were a lot) very well & Leal busted Marroquin's face up..In all the years I've been watching, reading & hearing about boxing, I've never heard of the ropes SNAPPING!! Or in this case 1 rope..I've seen very loose ropes in fights, but have NEVER seen or heard of ropes just snapping off till the 1st televised fight when what seemed to be the supposedly soft puncher Casey Ramos knocked John Jackson down(with a right to the jaw) on the ropes & 1 of the ropes just SNAPPED OFF & practically saved Jackson from getting KO'd, since it took like 10 minutes to fix the rope & then they ironically took a round ending minute rest after it was fixed..

^^^ agree on several of the rounds being close, which is why I take no issue with two of the judges being so far apart on their cards. I thought both were a bit extreme, but 6-4 either way would've been right on the money. Well earned by Leal, who fought his ass off.

In the first fight, I didn't hear the ref say "break" before Jackson stepped back with his head in the air and got knocked out. The second time, I did hear the ref say "break", but that too, was a quick call; when Jackson stepped back with his hands down a third time, you could see he was drawing the foul and the ref ignored it, and he quit pulling back with his hands down. Jackson is lucky that he didn't crack his skull when the rope broke, this was a very insightful prelim that was not all that on paper, very entertaining.
