Schaefer has been trying to build mayweather-guerrero since back when guerrero beat katsidis at LW. Now that ghost has a couple of good wins at WW and is seen as a legit opponent, this is the fight that will happen.
Alexender is an Al Haymon fighter, he will never fight mayweather, as berto never will.
i expect GBP will milk canelo for another year or two, he'll get more popular beating up carefully matched opponents, mayweather will get older.
In between that, they have garcia they can build up for mayweather, and mayweather loves to fight guys gone up in weight who are GBP fighters willing to take peanuts. Besides the cotto fight, this has almost always been the case with floyd the past seven years. And khan is also just a couple of good wins away from being back in the picture, i doubt gbp and floyd will let that opportunity slip again.
