    Oh wait, that actually happened.
If an old Lennox shatters a prime Vitali's face to bits how come people argue a prime Vitali would beat a prime Lewis?

Lennox was young and in his prime like a fine wine when the VK fight started and suddenly old and ready to retire when it ended. #WINNING!

VITALI has the tiger's blood his veins, he's got the Adonis DNA of the Vatican Assassin Warlock #PLANBETTER!

That wasn't a prime Vitali, any more than the version of Lewis who lost to McCall had reached his prime. Even the current version of Vitali would beat that version of Vitali - he's a far more intelligent fighter now, and judges distance and space far better than he used to. The Vitali of 2 years ago (which was his peak as a boxer - boxing prime is not the same thing as physical prime) would easily beat that version of Vitali.

Which does not mean that a prime Vitali would necessarily beat a prime Lewis, but nor is it a slam dunk that he wouldn't. The fact is, that fight tells us next to nothing about how they'd fare if they were both in their primes.

In terms of the ATG lists, though, Vitali won't get anywhere near the top 10 whatever he does now, because of his weak resume. Fantasy match-ups are just that - fantasies.

                Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis

                THE TRUTH

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis was badly hurt, was holding on for dear life and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round. Lewis was getting outboxed, outworked, outlanded and was badly hurt several times in the fight.

                punches landed

                Vitali 156

                Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.

                Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his bitch ass into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"

Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"

Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.

Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.

Lewis was 37 when he got his ass whooped by Vitali.

Lewis was coming off the KO win over Tyson. In the Lewis-Tyson post fight interview Lewis stated "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age"

In an interview right before the Vitali fight, Lewis said "I'm at the peak of my powers, I will keep fighting for many more years"

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement. That's a FACT.

Real truth Lewis also took that fight on 10 days notice clown he was supposed to fight Johnson. Klitschko was on the undercard so when Johnson pulled out they "BOTH" agreed to just do the fight there and then. Vitali was next to fight Lewis anyway.

The fans "booed" the decision to stop the fight. Doctor said Vitali couldn't see his finger without moving his head so he "HAD" to stop the fight as Vitali couldn't see the punches. He need 60 sitches to his face after the fight.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/galle...&story=3631874 yeah Vitali looked like he had in the bag LOL.

I am so sorry for you that heavyweight boxing doesn't look like the Rocky movie...

...but you have no proof that chubbiness (what you call "out of shape") actually decreases your chances.

                      Heavyweight boxing is not body-building.

It might very well be that chubbyness INCREASES your chances at heavyweight as is hinted by the fact that several greats have been chubby AND that the Klitschkos had the most problems with chubby fighters.

It was athletic Foreman who gassed, not chubby Foreman and it was athletic Clay who got viciously knocked down, not chubby Ali.

It is chubby Valuev who is unKOed, and it is more athletic Wlad who gassed/was KOed more than (less athletic) Vitali.

You have utterly no proof that chubby boxers perform worse at heavyweight than athletic boxers. It might very well be that it's chubby boxers who are the better heavyweights (chubby+trained) than athletic boxers.

With the exception of some tall ATGs and Mike Tyson ("freak of nature") athleticism might be a disadvantage at superheavyweight.

Thus Lennox might have won BECAUSE of being what-you-call fat.
