Shortly after he had scored an eighth-round technical knockout over Kendall Holt, Lamont Peterson turned his attention toward other fighters in the junior welterweight division.

“Hopefully we can get the guys we want to fight, like Danny Garcia or Lucas Matthysse or maybe a rematch with [Amir] Khan,” Peterson said.

All of those bouts are more possible than ever now that Peterson has signed with Golden Boy Promotions — which also has those three other boxers in its stable. And it seems as if Peterson-Matthysse could be next.
