  • Comments Thread For: Mayorga Meets With Don King, Demands Chavez Bout

Former two-division world champion Ricardo Mayorga (29-8-1, 23KOs) traveled over to Miami, Florida to meet with his promoter Don King. They discussed plans for his next fight. Mayorga is demanding a fight with WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Last week, King traveled to Mexico to speak with WBC president Jose Sulaiman, attempting to secure Sulaiman's approval for a possible Chavez-Mayorga clash. The WBC have ordered Chavez to fight Sergio Martinez - if Martinez beats Matthew Macklin on March 17. Mayorga has been inactive since a twelfth round TKO loss to Miguel Cotto in March 2011.

This is another fixed fight. Mayorga won't try to win. This is stupid already because Top Rank and Don King are just being so obvious now it's just getting rediculous. I honesly think their ego's are so big that they believe the sport should'nt be around if they're not going to be around. They are just putting the final nail in the coffin.

Of course B-Scene is just a hype machine for Top Rank. We all know this but most won't say it or even admit it. It's like most are ashamed to follow a sport thats not legit so we just block it out and pretend it's all on the up and up. We are only fooling ourselves. How the hell could they justify a Mayorga fight when everyone knows Martinez is supposed to be mandatory?

It will be toned down and Mayorga will be put on a leash. the whole promotion will be based on making Chavez look like the man. You can't possibly believe that Mayorga would have any chance at getting the win over chavez. Mayorga will be paid to show up and act tough thats it.
