Promociones del Pueblo are putting together a card in Mexico, featuring a classic Mexico vs. Philippines showdown. Originally this fight was planned for December, but the bout has now moved to the date of January 12th at the Foro Polanco. Juan José "Goofy" Montes, the flyweight champion of the World Boxing Federation (WBF), will face the former world flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Sonny Boy Jaro. The winner of "Goofy" Montes (24-2-1, 14 KOs) vs. Jaro (34-11-5, 24 KOs) will put himself back in line for a title shot.
