  • Comments Thread For: Geale Furious With The WBA's Ruling: Sturm To Blame!

Daniel Geale is angry, annoyed and frustrated by the "unfair" decision to strip him of his WBA middleweight Super boxing title before he has even received the belt he famously earned in Germany two months ago.

The WBA decided at their annual convention in Jakarta to strip Geale for opting to fight Anthony Mundine instead of their regular middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan.

Geale's American-based promoter Gary Shaw is waiting to hear back from WBA boss Gilberto Mendoza and is prepared to go to his headquarters in Panama after the convention in Indonesia is finished.

He'll probably get a "champion in recess" title or some crap then have to fight for his title all over again.

I think he has nothing, Golovkin was named Sole Champion

Pretty pathetic of the WBA to go ahead and do this when Sturm was running from Golovkin for over 18 months.

What in the world is he complaining about? He knew from the get-go the winner had to fight GGG!!! Although, he's right about the WBA not making Sturm take tr fight against GGG!

it's not fair to strip Geale for something Sturm didn't do but that's how it goes. Sturm made the WBA some serious money fighting taxi drivers in germany. Geale doesn't bring much to the table so Mendoza took it back.

GGG has k2 behind him now so he has a promoter who will buy off the santioning bodies which is the only way you can get anything done. no hate though because it's about time GGG gets his name out there.

The WBA never did anything to Sturm when he spent nearly 2 years ducking Golovkin. Why all of a sudden do they become sticklers for protocol on poor Geale?
