From fight news:
"Bantamweight contender Z Gorres survived a late knockdown in route to a unanimous decision victory over Luis Melendez on Friday night in Las Vegas. Moments later he collapsed to the canvas and was taken on a stretcher to University Medical Center’s trauma unit where he underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain.
Since the surgery, Gorres’ progress has been very good. The brain pressure has remained stable. Monitoring is not needed anymore. The plan for tomorrow is to decrease sedation and allow him to be more conscious. They will start weaning him from the ventilator in order to allow him to breathe on his own. Team Gorres ask for all who believe in prayer to continue to pray for him and his recovery."
