  • Dereck Chisora Prizefighter Heavyweights?

Chisora could get his career back on track by winning the next prizefighter heavyweight. Possible opponents Audley Harrison, Sprott, Skelton, Sexton, McDerrmott,Danny Williams. Chisora would beat them all then he would be on track for a povetkin for the WBA or a top 10 heavyweight possibly another crack at the euro title. What do you think?

I still haven't honestly had a chance to watch any of the Prizefighter tourney's, but if he has a good showing he'll be up there again.

Heavyweight Prizefighter is not for another year. What does beating a bunch of scrubs do for your career anyway?

Gets his name out there to still be relevent, remember even bad publicity is good publicity. In the mean time he should get 1 tune up and maybe fight a top contender for a Euro title.

True. It didn't do Mike Perez career any good. The guy stopped Tye Fields within 90 seconds in the final and is struggling to get anyone to fight him since. Darius Wach labored for 6 rounds against Fields and he has opportunities left, right and centre. Fury and David Price both refused to fight Perez, so did Adamek, Helenius and Pulev. At the moment he's being thrown Chris Arreola's leftovers and hasn't had a bout since Dec 31st last. He has a speed, power and class to go with an unblemished record but, thanks to his performance in prizefighter, nobody wants to fight him. If the tournament had the backing of the WBA, WBC, IBF or WBO and the result had an actual impact on the rankings, then it would be worth staging. But, as it is, it can ruin a young fighters chances.

So you're saying he should win a European title and then go on Prizefighter?

No I figure if he wins a European title then keep going for the World's, but if he loses for the bid then Prizefighter is a good backup. I can see what the others mean by beating up has been's (Harrison) and crap fighters (Skelton) doesn't really do much to promote yourself as a top tier fighter.

He needs a rest. He arguably had the toughest run of any heavyweight over the last 12 months & shouldn't go anywhere near a gym for the rest of the year.* Then have a tune up to see how he feels.

                * - he will need to run though as we don't want him blowing up again, do we.

Chisora should be out again before the end of the year in a fight against someone like Walker, Airich, Ibragimov etc then focus on fighting top contenders next year.

He's well above the likes of Prizefighter now.
