short model 1911's are less reliable.

not much lighter either.

and safe or not, most ppl are not comfortable carrying it CnL. just how it is.

1911 are good range, home def guns.

i wouldn't recommend 1 for concealed carry.

I replaced the extractor and firing pin stop with wilson compat replacements and i have shot to this date about 900 rounds thru my 3 inch 1911 and about 1200 thru my 5 inch and zero malfuntions. But to each his own. People should get what they are comfortable with so they can defend themselves if the sitution arises. Protect our 2A rights.
