Barrera is a great fighter, the thing is that he loved to get the best of his opponents, he didn't care about punishment . Which put him in a lot of wars early in his career, even before he fought the prince. If he was a little more defensive and technical as he later became, maybe he could've preserved his prime. Instead we got this crazy peak where he was fighting intense fights early in his career, and his ring life whined down when he was getting the bigger paydays with Morales, Pacquiao, and Marquez. But i wouldn't have it any other way with Barrera.

Great fights, Barrera will be missed

Not motivated to train to face Morales?? What an odd thing to say.

What's the point of one more fight if it's against a complete tomato can?? In my eyes, he's already retired then. He shouldn't step inside that ring with that mentality coz he'll really get hurt.

Barrera was the #2 P4P (behind RJJ) when he first fought Pacquiao. Barrera's career probably would've lasted longer if he didn't take that fight.

I think he was keen to be the first Mexican to win titles in 4 weight classes but when they gifted Morales a paper title he probably felt there is nothing left to do in boxing now. He will be massively missed when he goes. Barrera is possibly the coolest fighter of all time. The headslam on Nas was one of the best things Ive ever witnessed and his no nonsense attitude- punching people at press cons etc made him an unforgetable character.

Khan broke the spirit of this Maricon. Barrera thought he was a bad ass when he did steroids and teamed up with the referee and cheated his way to "victory" over Naseem Hamed...but when he fought on neutral ground he got what he deserved and left his balls in Khans pocket.

Barrera taught Naz a boxing lesson that day, it was the definition of a schooling, he literately beat the fight and heart out of him - pure masterclass.

And before you say anything, look in my sig.

The devil --- Are you saying you give Khan props for headbutting an old washed up Mexican and stopping him on cuts? Prime Barrera destroys Amir and even Khan knows that

You're fuckin stupid! Seriously , Hamed got cockiness shoved up his ass. Nas fought nobodies till he ran into a real fighter in Barrera , lol then he got so scared he never fought again. Con is another accident waiting to happen!
