Helsinki is a great city. Some beautiful buildings, nice housing, very low crime rate, fanatastic night life, great lager, great surrounding countryside / rural areas, mild in the summer, and some of the friendliest, laid back people I have ever met. Plus, it is full of gorgeous Scandinavian women !!!

The rest of the country (what I have seen of it) is great too.

I wonder if the high depression rate (not seen the figures) is influenced by the lack of sunshine in the winter?

All in all, Helsinki is great place to live.

My ex GF is a Finn and I agree with you they're gorgeous.Yes I think the lack of sunshine does drive some of them to deppression and ultimately suicide.

you misinterpreted the list. most livable doesn't mean best at anything but best to live in.

and i'd rather have to deal with rats then the **** Australians have to deal with. probably the only place in the world that still has dinosaurs.

Toronto the 4th greatest city in the world, gimme a break. Not saying Toronto isn't a great city, it is, but it certainly isn't the 4th best city in the world. Calgary also, who the fuk would ever want to live there. I do agree that Vancouver is the gem of Canada though and should be a top 10 city but I'm not buying this list at all. Chicago for example is a better city than Toronto and so is NYC.
