Everybody who knows just a little bit about life in general, knows that nobody makes money with betting. only the casinos make money with betting.
and if you were actually long enough in this world, you would know that. Either you are very young, or very d....
Let me explain to you what this is......it's a losing sports bettor, that believes that since HE can't win, no one can.
Stop spouting off your opinion and trying to claim it as fact. You're quite clearly misinformed.

As for the poll question, it wouldn't shock me a bit if Floyd wins more than he loses. What little I've heard of him talk about sports betting, he seems to know quite a bit about it. Rarely bets full game lines. Often bets halftime lines (as do most "sharp" bettors). I'm sure he also knows people. And those people know people. And he probably gets information on games that aren't always available to the masses.
On the flip side, I also wouldn't be surprised if he bets on certain teams no matter what, because he's friends with a player on the team (Mike Vick, for example).
Either way wouldn't shock me. But I do know, that he's not just blindly betting on teams for the hell of it.

I think Floyd is just gambling to show of his riches obviously.
The same Floyd (not as successful) working at the Cosco or some **** ringing up bulk items probably wouldn't have a penchant for betting six figures on the stupidest random basketball bets.

if you are too dumb to understand it, thats not my problem.
And as I said, I have experience with gambling, I am a very cautious gambler and I do know if you take a lot of risk, you have the best chances to lose a lot of money very fast. Only if you are very cautious do you have a chance to stay even for some time, but even then you lose a little bit and then a little bit more in the long run
only talk about things you understand

Stupid question. OBVIOUSLY, if Floyd wins ore than he lost he wouldnt be boxing to make money. He would just make money gambling.
Besides, professional gamblers (people that make a LIVING) partake in poker, pool, blackjack, things of that nature that take some sort of skill where they can somehow mitigate BLIND LUCK...And still, that is far and in between the norm. There's probably only 1000 people in the world that make a decent living that way. We are talking about people with 180 iqs, photographic memories, and just plain mathematical geniuses.
So no, Floyd is no gambling prodigy and LOSES more than wins. Statistically, it is what it is.Last edited by SammySosa; 04-28-2012, 08:04 AM.

I already explained how gambling works, and the betting odds make sure that in the long run you wont win money. if there is a 50 % chance that more than 2 goals happen during a soccer game, the betting odds will be something like 1.8 (decimal) for this event to happen. So logic says if you bet 100 times on it, you will win about 50 times and lose about 50 times. And now look at the odds: if the odds were 2.0 (instead of 1.8), you would neither win nor lose. Cause every time you win, you double up the money, and every time you lose, you lose everything. But guess what: the odds are 1.8 and not 2.0 or more, so in the long run you will lose money. Period

The fact that you still call it "gambling", let's me know all I need to know about you.
You can understand "the way odds work", and still be shit for fucking brains when it comes to beating the odds. The nonsense you're spewing, doesn't have anything to do with anything.
You don't have experience with "sports investing, sports betting, sports wagering, etc.". You have experience with "gambling". You have experience with "losing".
Keep it up, and I'm about to make you look like a damn fool.

Is it more likely that he's a break even/losing bettor? Of course it is. Most people are. But it's not outside the realm of possibility that he wins more than he loses.
People that claim "no one can win more than they lose, because of odds", like our friend raskat, are just being stupid.

And now get the f**ck out of here and take that other ****** with you cause Im sick of talking to little ******ed kids on this site. You dont know jacksh_it about gambling and you wanna talk with me about stuff you dont even know nothing about. Get L O S T
Btw does it happen that once or twice the oddsmakers know less about 2 fighters than you? Yes. And maybe you win that bet. But in the long run the odds are terrible, terrible and more terrible. Thats the only way the casino makes money. And if you are too stupid to understand that and if you dont have experience with gambling, then just be quiet and stop annoying me.Last edited by raskat; 04-28-2012, 02:56 PM.
