  • Comments Thread For: Victor Ortiz: Mayweather Fought Guys on Their Way Out

WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22KOs) is not intimidated by the accomplishments, or the boxing skills, of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25KOs). Ortiz will make the first defense of his title against Mayweather on Saturday night at the MGM Grand. While Ortiz has attacked Mayweather's record, he admits the boxer has everything that he wants - including the fame, the money and the recognition from the boxing public.

talk all the **** you want to hype yourself up. At the end of the day skills pay the bills. I'm not a Floyd fan, but Ortiz will be shocked when he gets in thurrr with Floyd. I wouldn't be surprised if he quits. Mayweather is on a whole different level in terms of skills, as well as experience.

I just can't imagine Floyd performing at the same level at 34 yrs old and has been out of the ring for almost 16 months.Ortiz's pressure could be too much for him for 12 rounds. But to beat Floyd, he will be taking alot of punishment himself. The question is, can Ortiz stay mentally strong to take Floyd's punishment. If he can, it will be a long night for Floyd. If not, then Floyd will start breaking him down early and get just get the victory.

Really? Here we go again with Victoria tryin to convince himself that he's better... Ya your right, Hatton was undefeated when Floyd gave him his first loss than Pacroid got to fight him, your right Mosley just dominated Margacheato but yet he was old right, Marquez, ehhh he was ranked by Sports writers and analyst as the number 2 p4p king.. but ya they all stank... Get a life on reality son... Ill give you this much Ortits you do have a punchers chance.. but a chance is all you have... Your gonna witness how hard it is to even touch Money May... At the end of the day , if you make any mistakes you will have to PAY!.. and pay you will homie...And hater Larry Merchant pls pls Floyd has to say something to him if Merchant dsnt give him his props... and Oh MaX Kellerman...lol.. The biggest Floyd hater.. Btw max what happend you were so riding P Will's nutz years ago.. lmao..

Victoria needs to take a look at his own resume with fighters like Nate Campbell and Vivian Harris! Those were two shot to **** fighters right there.

Absolutely agree. Oscar was 34, Hatton was too small, Marquez was 36 and too small, and shane was 38. Big news floyd, you're fighting a young lion.

If Berto had beaten Ortiz you would still be here posting about how Berto is a "c level" fighter....if Pac can draw and/or lose to ruined fighters like Marquez or Morales why can't Ortiz do the same?....you so damn yellow you're almost fully transparent.
