  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko Keeps The Door Open For Future Haye Bout

Wladimir Klitschko hopes talks will remain open with David Haye regarding a fight with he or his brother.

Haye 'retired' after receiving a 12-round bashing at the hands of Wladimir last summer, but unsurprisingly came back less than a year later to beat Dereck Chisora at Upton Park earlier this month.

That impressive stoppage victory once again sparked speculation that the 'Hayemaker' could be in a position to get it on with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko, or even face Wladimir in a rematch.

i dont know why the klitschkos even bother. if they aint going to fight each other then they might aswell retire. nobody wants to watch wlad vs haye 2. it wasnt even close. and if haye is the 3rd best heavyweight then that leaves nothing out there. who wants to watch mormeck and fighters like that?

Vitali and his management need to stop duckin Haye

Cancel the Charr fight and get in the ring with Haye and after that call it a day...If Vitals last fight is Charr then that sums up his career as fighting bums right to the day he retired

Ducking Haye? It is undisputed that Vitale made an offer to Haye to fight on September 8. Haye and his management admit that is the case. The excuse Haye's people have used for not taking the fight is that they wanted to fight Chisora first and Klitschko's people said no. Haye then insisted on fighting Chisora next, rejecting the Klitschko fight which was conditioned on the Chisora fight not moving forward. That is the HAYE camps story--admitting they refused to take the fight because of Klitschko's CONDITION ("Klitschko can't dictate who Haye fights next" to quote Haye's camp.)

This is pretty clearly a case of Haye ducking if anybody is ducking. Haye ducked both Klitschko's previously, pulling out of fights, refusing offers, all while talking trash. And, a champion saying that you can't fight in the few months leading up to the bout with me is not unusual--they want to do as much as they can to make sure the fight goes forward on the schedule they want it to move forward on; they don't want to risk a postponement as the result of an injury, loss, etc.

Let's not forget, Haye ducked Vitali in '09.

Hope they work something out, though

There was no real offer made, Vitalis management wanted to pick Hayes next fight, they didnt want him to fight Chisora. First they said Chisora and Haye should fight and the winner fights Vital, then they backed out once Haye had agreed to fight Chisora. If Chisora had beaten Haye, Wlad would have offered to fight him.

Vitalis team simply dont want to risk stepping in the ring with Haye as he always poses a real threat unlike the flabby bums who stand right in front of him and trade blows. Wlad will give every bum a rematch minus Haye, because the risk factor is very high.

Bonte or Booty whatever he is called, is a charlatan, the german Bob Arum. The contracts and stipulations these guys come up with are pathetic. One minute they are insulting Haye for beating Chisora and then they are saying he fought really good. Vitali's political career is at stake if he loses to Haye, he has enough pressure as it is when the campaign starts.

Haye has done little to prove he's the third best HW.

As for the other cat who talks of Vitali ducking Haye, this is some kind of delusion. Vitali tried for years to fight this clown, who has not yet earned his way back into the title picture. You think Vitali should cancel a signed fight? That's not a reasonable request. Haye should fight some top international contenders and earn mandatory status. Chambers, Adamek, or Arreola would gladly sign, and HBO would buy the latter two.

Haye does not deserve a pass on the rest of the division, and it's cowardly that he has always tried to avoid the other fighters.
