i understand where you are coming from... i too was quite cynical after digesting gandhi... it was too sanitized, bordering on yes... idolatry...

Unfortunately, that's becoming the accepted trend when it comes to films dealing with culturally important historical figures.

I suppose our beloved art of cinema will never surpass the art of print when it comes to telling the story as it was, as opposed to how it was told.
