  • Comments Thread For: Hopkins Reacts To Stevenson, Baits Duva on 'Frankenstein'

In an earlier article on BoxingScene.com, WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (21-1, 18KOs) called for a unification with Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2, 32KOs), the IBF's beltholder. Earlier this month, Stevenson shocked many by knocking out Chad Dawson in 1:16 of the first round to capture the WBC title. Last year Dawson won a majority decison over Hopkins. Stevenson believes that he is fully capable of catching Hopkins with a big shot and putting him away. [Click Here To Read More]

Monzon and SRR? lmao. The mere fact you have to bring up two legends of old speaks volumes of how good you truly think Hopkins is. I know you hate it but you know inside Hopkins is an all time great himself.

Btw, Stevenson is the lineal 175 pound champ. That is a far more lucrative fight not only financially but it would be another historic win and would add more to his legacy becoming the lineal 175 champ for the third time at age 48 which would of course shatter the previous record held by Hopkins.

The king of the cherry pickers? who has he cherry picked? He must of destroyed one of your favorite boxers, and when you went to support them post Hopkins ass whoopin, they where never the same! For anyone to hate on a 48 year old elite fighter is sad - this is the most grueling sport and he is almost 10years older than the oldest person in most other sports. Band wagoners think Stevenson / kovalev / etc can really beat this man? no promoter rushed to get his star(cash cow) slaughtered, Hopkins executes people, he out skills and out wills these cats, do not understand the hate - its like when Mike Jordan had to change his game from above the rim to turn around jump shots, still got his 30 point average just had make some adjustments, that is what Hopkins has done, got respect that.. Your favorite boxers do - listen to JMM, he always gives B-hop and Mayweather their just due.

"Cherry picker"? Stop it. At 48 he has entered the ring with the top fighters at 175lbs and showing well. Lets keep in mind that as time goes on people get bigger faster and stronger.... Training equipment, techniques, an sadly steroids improve year to year. Their is no guarantee that the stars of the past would be legends today. 40 times drop each year. There was no Lebron James before Lebron James. No Shaquille before Shaquille.
