  • Hatton Could Learn From Cotto

That's the way you move up one division and beat a southpaw. I don't expect Cotto to move back down to 140 like a little ***** as Hatton did...

That's a bit harch, dude. Some guys can move up a weight class and some can't. Hatton realized his shortcomings and that he couldn't be "Ricky Hatton" at his best at 147.

A world class fighter should be able to move up one division and beat a decent fighter. Quintana is as good as Collazo and fought in a similar style. A good 45-50% were picking Quintana to win as opposed to everyone thinking Hatton would dominate Collazo. Hatton should not be mentioned among the elite in boxing today...

And he has no problem walking around at 190 pounds. What's your point? At 5'6", he's short even for 140...

            Apples and Oranges.

            1. Everyone has known for a while that Cotto was blowing up big time between fights and was much too big to remain at 140.

            2. He Said/She Said doesn't mean diddley-squat. Quintana was being favored by some due to the perceived weakness in Cotto's chin while Ricky was being blown out of proportion somewhat due to his beating of Tszyu and Maussa (sp).

In the end, Cotto was too big for 140 while Hatton is too small for 147; and that has no relation even as to how these two would have matched up at Jr. Welterweight.

            Apples and Oranges.

SiN, why SHOULD Hatton move up to 147 right now anyway? If he can make 140 there's no point at all, there's good fights up there for him but that's it.. if he can't perform well, or if he did infact come in out of shape.. then maybe he should wait until he NEEDS to move up, there's no rush, his name isn't Floyd Mayweather.. he doesn't want to be more than a 2 weight division champion - which he already is - so just drop it, I know you think that any enemy of Floyds is an enemy of yours but it get's boring when you show extreme hatred towards British fighters for stupid reasons.

I think Cottos chin will hold up well at the weight hes comfortable with now, before he was weight drained, and that can have an effect

Why would you compare whitaker to hatton?

Hatton never said that he was the greatest fighter to ever lace them up. He's a world classs fighter, that's all!
