Wakee Salud says Pacquiao-Mayweather fight '80% sure' from happening

Recent Headlines: If it's Pacquiao who won, why can't some Pacquiao fans move on? / Charly Suarez dominates Indonesian foe; nabs gold in SEA Games / Nonito vs. Ippo: Who wins?

Rex "Wakee" Salud, a known trusted Manny Pacquiao insider in the Philippines, spoke to DZSR Sports Radio 918's Snow Badua recently, and made welcome comments to boxing fans hoping for the dream match between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Salud said in Tagalog: "80% sure na yang Pacquiao-Mayweather. Nag-uusap lagi iyang mga iyan. Ang laki ng perang involve. Papakawalan nila?"

Translation: "Pacquiao-Mayweather is 80% from happening. They have always been talking. There's so much money involved, you think they will let that go?"

Salud also commented that Team Mayweather doesn't want Bob Arum to be part of the negotiations. "Si Bob Arum ang isa sa mga ayaw ng Team Mayweather, hindi ko alam kung paano i-wo-work-out yun. Baka kausapin na lang si Bob."

Translation: "Bob Arum is one of the things that Team Mayweather doesn't like. I don't know how they will work that out. Maybe they'll just talk to Bob," Salud added.

Salud also added that one of the provisions Team Mayweather wants is a rematch clause, and that the fight will earn Mayweather a hefty $100 Million greenbacks when all is said and done.

"Isa sa mga hinihingi ng TEAM MAYWEATHER eh siguraduhing may rematch. Kaya pag-naging ma***it ito malamang TRILOGY."

"Pero tuloy na yang laban na iyan. Anlaki na ng perang involve. Hindi na uurong iyang si MAYWEATHER. Papalo sa $100M kita niya."

Translation: "One of the thing Team Mayweather is asking is to make sure that there's a rematch clause. If the fight ends up being a close fight, we might get a trilogy."

"But that fight will definitely push through. There's a lot of money involved. Mayweather won's back out from that. He will make up to $100 million."

On Mayweather's recent rants, Salud brushed it off as another one of the outspoken boxer's bluffs.

"Kalokohan yung banat ni MAYWEATHER. "Pirma ko, pirma ka?" Hindi ganun ang boxing. Pero effective nga kasi dami nang investor."

"Bluffing lang iyang hamon ni MAYWEATHER. Para mas madami pang investors na pumasok. Pero effective. $75M each na fight purse."

Translation: "Mayweather's comments are ridiculous. 'I'll sign then you sign?' That's not how boxing is. But it's effective because there's a lot of investors biting."

"Mayweather's challenge is a bluff, just so that there's more investors that will jump in. It's effective. The fight purse is already $75 million."

It's digusting that Pacquiao can make that much money even though he was unofficially beat by Marquez who made probably 3-4 mil.
