  • Did Sugar Ray Leonard have the highest Quality for Quantity opponents?

Leonard had relatively few fights but he beat Duran, Hagler, Hearns, and Benitez. He had less than 40 fights.

Armstrong and Pep fought over 150 times but who did they really beat? Between the two of them it was really just Sandy Saddler and Barney Ross.

Did Ray have the highest quality opponents relative to his total number of fights?

Ali fought Liston, Foreman, Norton, Frazier, and Shavers in his 60+ fights. Great opponents but 60 fights is a lot.

Julio Caesar Chavez basically lost to Taylor and Whitaker. Lost to Frankie Randall but deserves some credit against Camacho. In terms of the quantity to quality ratio, he was the worst "all time great" in modern times. Gave Pep and Armstrong a run for their money.

The Klitschko's are obviously nothing. Vladmir has over 50 fight s with ZERO quality opponents to speak of.

Mayweather is an insult to Leonard with just over 40 fights, and only Corrales being of decent quality. The rest were blown up or just plain bad.

Pacquiao had guaranteed HOFers Morales, Barrera, and Marquez, a total of 7 times. As well as a non overblown Hatton. Not to mention Cotto, and 160+ pounders Clottey and Margarito, but he has had almost double the number of fights as Leonard.

I think Leonard beats them all in terms of quality relative to quantity.

and your point? It doesnt make him greater or less than any one bc of that. Some people just fought more and probably earned more money than him bc of that

Leonard and Spinks stand out among guys who achieved a lot in a short number of fights.
