    At Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22KOs) captured the WBC welterweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Andre Berto (27-1, 21KOs). The fight was a war, a fight of the year contender, and both men went down twice. The scores were 115-110, 114-112 and 114-111.

    My hat is off to Ortiz. I did not think he had it in him and I will be the first to admit he prooved me wrong. Credit goes to Berto as well. Tremendous fight from both fighters.

      i dont know why people are bashing berto for being a hype job he gave a great show today and i wouldnt mind seeing him again cuz he gots mad power

          Berto is going to have a hard time ever beating Ortiz in a rematch , what he needs to get his game back on track is a fight with Mike Jones or Canelo Alvarez . The difference in Ortiz and Berto seems to be Ortiz believed he fought the tuffer comp leading up to this fight.

                  wow! didnt see the bout but, pleasantly surprised.
                  i picked andre to win easy on points.
                  a rematch has been born i believe but, the way im reading this it would be foolish of ortiz to accept.
                  enjoy victor! well deserved but i hope berto is ok too.
                  anyway, gotta go because i need a poo.

                    I would say the same, he still got time to get his game together and come back, but probably not enough to come back and win it from Ortiz, Ortiz ruffed him up badly since rd1.....
