  • Comments Thread For: Holyfield Now Eyes an Alexander Povetkin Showdown

Two-weight world champion Evander Holyfield has told WBN that recent comments made by WBC title holder Vitali Klitschko would not stop the American pursuing his dream of regaining a version of the world crown.

The 49 year-old, who has not held recognised title for twelve years, had actively been seeking a shot at either of the belt-hoarding Ukrainian brothers since scoring back-to-back victories over Frans Botha and Brian Nielsen - without any success.

Why do they write as is if Povetkin holds a belt when Wlad is the WBA champion? It's an interim/bullshit belt, not a real one, so winning it is meaningless when the real champion is someone else.

The co-feature can be the first public execution. Get into reality and retire Evander

Evander may be on to something simply because he is old and way way way past his prime and therefore he is over qualified as a prospective Pusvetkin opponent.

Evander should just retire before he gets killed in the ring. The guy has an iron chin, so he could get seriously hurt if he continues to fight...

yeah this Holyfield cat has gotta go, but IMO it'll never end especially if Holyfield is not willing to step in the ring with anyone of note and claim to only want belt holders

**none of the belt holders, especially the Klitschko's want to tarnish their legacy by taking on a very elderly near 50 year old faded Holyfield.
